Equipment
289cid/306hp, 4-speed, side exhaust, Cragar wheels, woodrim steering wheel.
Condition
One of 562 1965 GT350s. Sold new in Kansas. Restored in the 2000s but holding up quite well. There is some waviness in the bumper chrome and there is a small chip at the back edge of the driver’s door, but cosmetically there are no major problems. Clean wheels and tires. Very good interior other than cracking in the Cobra badge on the steering wheel. A straightforward older restoration of the first Shelby Mustang.
Market commentary
1965 was the first year for the Shelby Mustang, and the '65s are both rarer and more overtly racy. As such, they can be worth approaching twice as much as the very similar '66 model. Half a million dollars for one like this isn't unusual.
