Equipment
Lefthand drive. Silver painted outside laced wire wheels, split windscreen, no top. Built on a 330GT with alloy coachwork by unknown and undeniably handsome although a bit awkwardly proportioned. This is one quick 212.
Market commentary
In a sense this is little different from a Volkswagen based Ferrari fake. True, it has a Ferrari V12, driveline and chassis, and a beautiful alloy body. But a Coddington or Foose rod has more originality, creativity, rarity and authenticity. The bidders showed enough sense to disregard the estimate and the Ferrari was hammered sold at an ample but reasonable price.
