Equipment
Chrome spoke Borrani wire wheels, P W. Three owner car showing 34,512 km. Restoration begun in the late 90s, completed only months ago and none too well. Paint, interior and chrome are good but the chassis appears to be untouched. The alternator has been crudely painted with matte silver and has sloppy connectors. Underhood paint is overly shiny, master cylinder quickly spray bombed. It has no vent windows in the doors. Most significantly, the rear wheels are set far back in the wells, nearly touching on the left side and with barely more clearance on the right; both wheel wells are surrounded by body filler and there are rust bubbles in front of the drivers door. The passenger door drops and both door window frames fit the roof unevenly.
Market commentary
This restoration looks like it was rushed to completion to make the auction. The rear body positioning is suspicious as well as operationally unworkable, however the frame shows no evidence of being bent or welded up. It is a very peculiar car that doesnt engender much confidence but that is not reflected in the price paid here and it appears the emptor did not caveat.
