Equipment
RHD. Centerlock 5 spoke alloy wheels, dual outside mirrors. Known history and continuous documented ownership from new. Raced by Edoardo Lualdi Gabardi and others including Taramazzo Sigala who placed 10th at Monza and won the GT Nazionale class in the 1965 Targa Florio with it. Later owners included Albert Obrist and Ken Starbird who crashed it comprehensively in Nevada. Rebuilt, then restored, then crashed again in 2004 and again rebuilt. Modern gauges, switches, etc. How much of the rest of the car began life in 1965 is a big question, but at least the engine and chassis number stampings did. Well maintained but also well used, with an appealing patina. Comes with FIA papers, but no Ferrari certification.
Market commentary
While this is unquestionably a genuine 250 LM it also has been crashed heavily twice and has been rebuilt as a race car with little regard to historically correct appearance or configuration. It is, however, a great vintage race car and brought an appropriate price for what it is.
