Market commentary
This is a rare and special Impala that has been restored to high standards. The engine upgrade is a challenge, adding to the cars performance attractiveness but detracting from its originality. It would appear from the price that the bidders came down on the side of performance and it is impossible to argue with their conclusion: a 409 425 is a lot more attractive car than a 409 340, and yet another example of the flexibility of the term numbers matching.
