Equipment
LHD. 3995cc/282hp, 5-speed, wire wheels, Avon tires, hardtop, woodrim steering wheel, pushbutton radio, Marchal fog lights.
Condition
Built as a show car for the Salón Internacional del Automóvil de Barcelona. One of 39 DB5 convertibles to leave the factory in LHD. Represented as matching numbers. Restored at Aston Martin Works in 2021 and got $5000 worth of service in 2023. Beautiful paint and chrome. Small scuff at the front of the hardtop. Very mild use showing on the driver’s seat but very good interior. A lovely DB5 with an ultra-rare hardtop, a fresh restoration, and period show history.
Market commentary
A very rare configuration with a fresh restoration and lovely original colors, this Aston had nearly everything going for it. But it appears the vintage Aston Martin market isn't exactly on fire right now, even for exceptional examples like this one. RM Sotheby's sold it at the St. Moritz auction in 2022 for CHF2,142,500 (about $2.2M), so this is a pretty big drop in a fairly short time.
