Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Marine lights front and rear, wide whitewall tires, solid body, good paint and trim, new interior. Underside has a heavy coating of marine grade epoxy paint with all moving hardware coated in a protective layer of grease. An Amphicar restored for the road and (calm) river.

Market commentary

In spite of all their considerable charm, Amphicars are the fusion of the automotive world: designed to do two things and adequate at neither. Nevertheless who couldnt love a car that can be driven down a boat ramp (provided it is not too steep) and into the water (if the ripples are less than 6 inches) This is a completely reasonable price for a complex vehicle kept in top working condition.
