Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

289 Ford, 475hp with four 48 IDA Webers and Colotti Francis 5 speed. Originally built from a kit by Don Edmunds, Wally Peat and Peter Brock for Craig Lang whose Olympia Beer was recycled into race entries. Restored to its original configuration, its devilish aerodyamics make it almost undrivable. Its pristine cosmetics reflect that fact that it cant be driven with confidence. Pat Ryan Collection.

Market commentary

Peter Brock drew some great race car but this isnt among them, an upside down airfoil that wants to fly. Undriveable cars, especially those like this with Big Power, are fraught with challenges, none of which historic racers want to face. Better to spend the money on an Ol Yaller...or even a Sunbeam Tiger. Like Honker II, this is the Dracula of sports racers.
