Equipment

RHD. Sold new to Gottfried Kochert in Vienna, won the 1965 Austrian Grand Prix a sports car race held in place of the F1 Grand Prix at Zeltweg driven by Jochen Rindt. Sold through Chinetti to Arthur Swanson and raced at Sebring in 1966 (DNF), Monza (DNF), Targa Florio (DNF). Eventually traded to Hisashi Okada for 0808, the 330 TRI LM with coupe body, and used to commute from Connecticut to New York City. Later to Japan, Don Williams and Rob Myers. Restored by Jean Guikas with new original 250LM short nose body. Like new. Ferrari Classiche certified.

Market commentary

A no sale at Monterey in 1993 with a $1 1.2MM estimate, the chandelier stopped bidding at $800K. A late addition to the consignment here and sold for realistic money. The Austrian Grand Prix win helps its value even if the Austrian Grand Prix was a race of little importance.
