Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Remarkably well preserved car with only minor touch ups. The paint is very clean showing the expected wear for the miles. The brightwork is slightly tarnished and pitted. The underhood is very clean with only minor touch ups to the engine paint. The top is original and is still in remarkably good shape. The interior shows a little wear and needs more attention to detailing. A fantastic car that should be kept as is.
Market commentary
This DeVille was trying to ride the "originality" card as far as it would go, but the high bid could get a perfectly restored example. Pair that with the fact that there is almost certainly a more original example out there (nearly 18,000 of these were built in 1964 after all), and it's fair to say $45,000 could have been gleefully accepted.
