Equipment
Gumball light, remote spotlight, hubcaps, gurney, oxygen bottles. Bad repaint with orange peel and dirt everywhere. Cracked steering wheel. Body color paint sprayed over old undercoat in wheelwells. Sound upholstery looks original. Navy data plate removed from glovebox door. Headline car reportedly used to transport President Kennedys body from Andrews Air Force Back to Bethesda Naval Hospital. No Reserve.
Market commentary
The object of much controversy, eventually concluded with a long presentation of conflicting evidence on the block. There is little convincing evidence this is in fact the ambulance in question, and as much evidence that another ambulance, believed by the Kennedy family to be the Andrews Bethesda Pontiac, was crushed. The bidders were obviously unconvinced in what was an anticlimactic moment on the block.
