Condition
#1 Concours
World-class. Could compete in the world’s best Concours d'Elegance events.
Product of a $325,000 restoration. Paint and panel fit are superb with excellent brightwork. A near perfect car inside and out, though the hard top didn't appear to be part of the resto package.
Market commentary
Provenance is everything and while this car checks every box, the fine print isn't so encouraging. The block is a factory re-stamped replacement, air conditioning was added during restoration, and the colors were changed from gray/red to dark blue/gray. The hard top was also added later, and the luggage is not original to the car. While this roadster almost made low estimate, it might have done $500,000 more if it was fitted new with all these extras and had its original motor.
