Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome spoke Borranis, AM FM radio, SNAP exhaust extractors. Reputedly first owned by Nelson Rockefeller however the family archives have no record of it. It has real eye appeal, the Dark Red over Red gives it a rich but subtle presentation that is both impressive and inviting. Presented in like new condition with excellent cosmetics, it looks much better in person than in photos.

Market commentary

Acquired about the same time Rockefeller married Happy Murphy and lost the Republican nomination for President, this 400SA would have been a nice consolation prize. The reported high bid was not an unreasonable offer for it, but in light of other recent Superamerica transactions the seller cannot be faulted for holding out for a little more.
