Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome spoke Borranis, fender mirrors. This 250 GTE based rebody looks less like a California Spyder than a Modena replica with 302 Ford V8 power does. It was built by Fine Car Store in San Diego in the mid 80s and lingered there and at Ron Tonkins as the market melted down around it. Doors close unevenly, good glass and rubber. Original seats in good condition, new top. Chrome OK. Nothing surprising about this Ferrari, its just a car.

Market commentary

This was a disappointing car until the bids started coming in. Then it became a very interesting car, which brought a huge price, especially for one that is so badly proportioned.
