Equipment
Chrome spoke Borranis, six Webers. Cataloged as a Drogo Speciale, but it was built by Allegretti. That does nothing, however, to detract from its dramatic, fastback, Kamm tail style which stands by itself as dramatic, individual coachwork on a Ferrari 250 GT chassis. Good older paint and interior, some chips carefully touched up. Chassis not as good as the top and not done at the same time. No Reserve.
Market commentary
Instead of trying to create a legend for individually styled and constructed Ferraris it should be enough to acknowledge the aspirations and vision of their creators and the owners who commissioned them. They were as demanding and far sighted as the aristocrats who commissioned Figoni & Falaschi, Walter M. Murphy and Viotti to body and rebody classic chassis in the Thirties. This is a really neat Ferrari with sleek, aggressive, streamlined coachwork. So it was once a 250GTE It isnt any more and that is what the buyer bought. A very pretty car, bought for an appropriate price that some day might stand by itself as a good value.
