Equipment
421 V8 with three deuces, 4 speed, 8 lug wheels, pushbutton radio. A neat Poncho with a quick repaint over old, good interior, fair chrome and repainted but not disassembled chassis. Paint chipped above grille, windshield pitted. A barely presentable auction car.
Market commentary
The Grand Prix was a complete change for Detroit and particularly GM. Its clean sides, unembellished by chrome, brought a new ethic to Detroit design It didnt have the impact of the GTO, but it should have and this GPs equipment is about as good as it gets even if its been added after it left the showroom. The buyer has assumed the risk that it started as a 389, at a fair price.
