Equipment
RHD. Good paint, worn origil upholstery, aged chassis. All there, but definitely not fresh. This is the Team Meridian Chaparral raced by Skip Hudson and owned by Chuck Jones. Resurrected from parts retained by Jones with a new chassis built by Dick Troutman and a new body. Completed a few years ago and no longer in like new condition. FIA Identity papers. Unused in years and in need of thorough inspection and race prep.
Market commentary
Sold here three years ago for $577,500 with apparently absolutely nothing done to or with it since and now with the inevitable deterioration of a finely tuned and prepared racing car that hasnt been used or maintained. The discount reflected in this price is appropriate to the costs which the new owner will have to bear to get it ready to race. The estimate is, especially for a car made from parts with a new chassis and body, a pipe dream which the seller was astute enough to exhale. The pain will go away.
