Equipment

Bare bodyshell with flared fenders and chassis sitting on 4 wide wire wheels. A Ford Zephyr six with Raymond Mays cylinder head in boxes is included, but not much else. A very incomplete and in process restoration. Paul Kunkel collection.

Market commentary

This would be a reasonable buy at $25,000 or so; at this price its completion has to have a major labor of love component factored in. Ruddspeed cars are faster than their Bristol engined counterparts and bring a $15 20,000 premium. This one is very incomplete and it will cost a fortune just to buy the parts it needs. Perfectly restored it will challenge $100,000, but the hours and dollars spent will make it an uneconomic proposition.
