Equipment
RHD. First XKE sold, first owner Lofty England, then Tommy Sopwith, then Michael Parkes, then the present owner who disassembled it for a restoration that never happened. Mostly complete except for the hood (bonnet) but rusty, bedraggled and forlorn. A pile of parts from the back corner of a soggy shop. Original registration 1600 RW has lapsed but can probably be rejuvenated along with the car.
Market commentary
Undoubtedly this assortment of rusty, rotten, seized stuff will be resuscitated into a gleaming example of the very earliest outside bonnet latch E type then peddled for prodigious pounds at some subsequent auction venue. Even if its a financial debacle, preserving such an early and important E type is a worthy endeavor. Maybe BMIHT can wangle a tax credit.
