Equipment
Chrome wire wheels, A C. Excellent paint, interior and chrome. Freshly done and nearly like new. The original buyer of this G was named Golden and he wanted a gold Chrysler, a color Chrysler didnt offer in 1961. This car was instead delivered in primer and painted this color by the dealers incompetent body shop. It flaked off in a couple years and the car spent most of its life in black before being restored in the (sort of) original gold. Its still the original primer under the hood.
Market commentary
The reasoning that equates this 300Gs dealer paint job paint with a $30,000 value premium escapes me. Thats not to say it isnt there, its just not there for me. And, apparently, for the bidders in Seabrook, Texas today, too. Bid to $60,000 on the block and closed later at this price, it is a specialized piece that appeals to a limited audience.
