Equipment
Euro headlights. Good older paint, chrome and interior. Underhood presentation is tarnished, oxidixed, rusty, dirty and neglected. A handsome boulevardier that looks good under the kind of auction block display common in the States but not calculated to appeal in the European setting.
Market commentary
Sold by Bonhams in Monaco in 2005 for $235,420, Euros 186,500 and given an extensive mechanical refurbish since but with the same cosmetics, including the tacky M B star on the front fenders, although the Nardi steering wheel was replaced by a stock 300SL wheel and the CD stereo disappeared. The neglected chassis and underhood presentation seems not to have turned off the bidders, who paid all the money for it, particularly in dollar terms.
