Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Moss Gurney winner at Nnrburgring 1960, later raced in the US by Alan Connell, subsequently Ferrari V12 powered. Rebuilt by Christies Patrick Lindsay but crashed in 1972, restored from the bits by Dieter Holterbosch, later to Hartmut Ibing. Blew engine in 1999 and rebuilt with new block and crankcase (original block included). FIA papers. Sound and presentable historic race car with demonstrated performance.

Market commentary

There is plenty of windage in the value of this Birdcage. The ceiling is probably the $2 million paid for 2460 in 2001. 2461 has history, but has been rebuilt about as many times as a race car can and still have its identity. How much is enough Well the seller thinks its at least this much and hes driven it! There was no visible bidding, however.
