Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome wire wheels (original silver painted wheels included), removable roll bar. Dnf at Sebring in 61, little used since with only 76,340 miles. Good original interior with some drivers seat wear but no pulls or tears; good carpets, dash top cracking. Pitted chrome trim, good bumper chrome. Simply despicable repaint over negligent preparation and old paint. Otherwise highly original and quite wonderful.

Market commentary

This was a good and highly original DB4GT until some cretin had it masked by voc tech rejects and hit it with a spray gun. Christies was lucky to sell it to a phone bidder who couldnt see it. Those in attendance were appalled, not at the basic car, but at its mistreatment. The buyer got a good car, at a reasonable price, but one that will need sympathetic attention to overcome its painting trauma.
