Equipment
See photos. Cracked, blistered, dull. Engine looks recently rebuilt. Threadbare tires worn to the cord. Fasciting story: Shell Oil Co. experimental car that set a World Record 376.59 miles per gallon in October, 1973. It ran the 14 mile course at the Wood River, IL Shell Oil Refinery on 4.78 ounces of gasoline. Thats just over half a cup. It was designed and built by engineers at Shell Oil Co. Research Laboratories. Runs.
Market commentary
Highly obscure, but also intrinsically important, particularly in these days of $3 gasoline. As a display or demonstration vehicle it is well worth the amount paid for it here.
