Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

One of the last front engined Lotus GP cars. A typical old GP car history. Thought to have been raced by Graham Hill and Pete Lovely for Lotus in 1959, then to David Piper with this number. Eventually came to the States where the engine was appropriated, it lost its body and had the frame cut in half. Reassembled by the present vendor with a 2 1 2 liter Coventry Climax engine and body by RS Panels. Not much of the original car remains but what there is of it is beautifully presented and prepared to current historic GP standards.

Market commentary

This should be a highly competitive front engined Historic GP entry. Opinion of value Not a clue!
