Equipment

Originally delivered to Luigi Innocenti, later owned by Mario del Monaco. Chrome spoke Borranis, driving lights in grille. Recreated from a burned out hulk in a Louisiana junkyard with covered headlight body. Original parts include chassis, bulkheads, steering, suspension, radiator, grille, oil filter body and special stainless steel interior trim (i.e., not much.) Engine from 0939GT, another LWB Cal Spyder, overdrive. Repainted and engine rebuilt in 2000. Toured recently and in very good condition with older interior showing age and use.

Market commentary

Reported sold here in 2001 for CHF647,300 ($394,094; $563,359 at todays exchange rate). The current owner has had plenty of use from this car and could have been satisfied with the reported high bid. This is an honest car, the only claimant to its identity, but its history and mixed origins limit its value.
