Equipment
361 295hp, 2 barrel, P S, P B, automatic, chrome wire wheels, pushbutton radio. Odometer shows 3,244 miles which the consignor represents as the correct mileage from new. Crisp, fresh restoration with shiny chassis paint. Excellent, brilliant cosmetics and sharp original interior. Much better than new and outstanding throughout.
Market commentary
Friday Prime Time. Originally reported sold for $333,450 with commission. That works out to a hammer price of $303,136. Later revised to $319,200, which would be a hammer price of $290,182. Spanky Assiters crew is gifted, but I dont think they were taking bids at either of these amounts, so what really transpired on the block remains an open question. Either way, this is a huge price for an old De Soto, even with 3,244 miles on it, but all the rules go out the window when the miles are this low.
