Equipment
Team Lotus entry in 1958 driven by Cliff Allison in F2 trim, later upgraded to 2 liter F1 Climax FPF. Crashed by Allison at Oporto, apparently the chassis was repaired and sold as 354 (which is the car offered here but under its chassis original number) to Anthony Brooke. A succession of owners followed. Now fitted with 2.2 liter FPF, rebuilt in 99 00 with zero time since. Front disc brakes, plenty of historic racing stickers and tags. Small chips in nose but appears race ready.
Market commentary
The last of Chapmans front engined formula cars, should be very competitive in Historic GP front engine class. Its mixed chassis history doesnt help, but there is apparently no competing claim to the number. Arguably worth more than a common DFV powered kit car, but is it 50% more or 100% more Only an enthusiastic racer who wants to challenge 250Fs and 625s really can say for sure.
