Equipment
283 245hp, 4 speed, WonderBar radio. One off retractable hardtop design by Francis H. Scott, a GM employee, built in his living room and patented. The restoration is superb even if the top and tail are seriously misshapen. Extensive show history including 1996 Bloomington Gold Special Collection. GM had nothing whatsoever to do with this Corvettes hardtop construction except for the paychecks that supported Scotts spare time effort. Saturday primetime number.
Market commentary
Bid to $260,000 at Christies Pebble Beach auction in 2001. An interesting Corvette, but not an important one. The seller was overjoyed at the price, as well he should have been, amply rewarding him and B J for the legend built for this car.
