Equipment
347/290hp Tri-Power, automatic, wheel covers, Coker Classic whitewalls, fender skirts, power steering, power brakes, WonderBar radio, dual mirrors.
Condition
Paint crack on the rear between trunk and rear passenger compartment. There are many chips on the front of the hood and swirls from detailing on the trunk. Bumpers have been rechromed and the trim shows some scratches. The soft top has been replaced and is in good condition. Interior is good with no wear. The engine is correct and dry with a large amount of heat rash on the exhaust headers. Restored underbody shows mild dirt and wear. A good but not over the top restoration of a pretty car with desirable equipment.
Market commentary
A good Star Chief with the mid-range 347/290hp engine (the first of Pontiac's triple carb engines) can expect to bring at least 10 grand over the reported high bid, so refusing it was a reasonable thing to do.
