Equipment
Older restoration to good racing car standards, now showing use and getting a new patina. Lefthand drive, solid rear axle. The tire pressure warning system hiding under the dash and onboard fire system indicates its seen some serious but careful high speed use. Passengers must resent the batterys location in their footwell. One race for factory, Buenos Aires with Musso and Gendebien in 1958 where it dnfed after a first lap accident. Rebodied by Drogo as a GTO ish coupe, engine misplaced. Current pontoon fender body built by Fantuzzi, powered by 6 Weber 250GT engine restamped 0716TR.
Market commentary
A lovely Testa Rossa with continuous, if checkered, history. The rebody, GT engine and lack of significant racing history will forever affect its value and make it a dicey acquisition. No one was today willing to take the risk of rolling the cubes on the chance a real 250 TR engine could be acquired, or putting $3 million+ at risk for a sporting driver. A car like this invites speculation about its value with the Drogo coupe body.
