Equipment
Wire wheels, fog lights, blackwall tires. Freshly restored by DK Engineering with a replacement block from Ferrari Classiche (the older engine had internal number 064 C and was said to be from 0801 GT). Excellent workmanship and materials throughout, like new.
Market commentary
Sold by Christies in Greenwich, Connecticut in June 2005 from the David Tunick collection for $141,000 (GBP 77,800) with the paint peeling off in sheets and in need of everything. It now has received, indeed, everything and is an outstanding example, but still an Ellena with a replacement engine in a market that prizes correctness and completeness above all and eschews all but the most entertaining stories. Here it came up way short of even recouping its owners investment, particularly in Pounds where the high bid is only GBP 120,000.
