Equipment
RHD. 1,462cc Coventry Climax four, 4 speed, deDion rear axle, silver painted wire wheels, dual rear view mirrors, faired in headrest, wraparound windscreen, aluminum tonneau over passenger seat. Raced consistently from initial purchase until today. First races predominantly in UK, later vintage raced across Europe by IBM executive including a win at the Monaco Historic GP. One of two Lotus Elevens claiming this chassis number, but authenticated as the one built by Lotus by the UK Lotus 11 Registrar. Loads of patina. Aluminum wavy and scuffed throughout. Mechanicals and interior sorted but worn and dirty. Attractive but needing attention before use.
Market commentary
With hand formed aluminum bodywork, excellent looks, strong performance, event eligibility and easily serviced mechanicals, Lotus 11s are great cars. Too bad so few people notice. This car had some issues but its final sales price is a veritable steal relative to other, similar cars of the era.
