Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. April 56 R&T road test car, raced by Pearce Woods and Harold Erb then sold to Carlyle Blackwell. September 64 R&T Salon car. Restored after a wreck in the 80 Monterey Historics, little used since but featured in many magazines and books. Better than new throughout but not overdone.

Market commentary

This might be called The Magazine D type for all the exposure its had. A modest race history and the extensive rebuild needed after the 80 wreck do little for its value but thats somewhat offset by a clear provenance. The bid is marginally inadequate for this car, but not far off in todays market which seems no longer to elevate ordinary D types to a $ million starting figure.
