Equipment
Chrome wire wheels, wide whitewalls, later cassette stereo, later 392 cubic inch Hemi with the wrong air cleaners on its dual quad intake but making an estimated 385hp. Excellent paint and new interior but poorly detailed and seemingly quickly assembled. Door panel loose, seat trim scratched, thin window frame chrome, chassis quickly resprayed Black, poor grille chrome. Painted in a 57 Chrysler color not available on the 56 300B.
Market commentary
This car has the aura of a restoration rushed to completion. Shortcuts are numerous; expedient improvements like the later engine are irreconcilable. Correctly restored it could be a $60,000 car but it has a laundry list of issues and they mean it is unlikely ever to be better than it was here today and none too good at that. $35,000 (with the commission) would not have been a bargain.
