Equipment
Chrome wire wheels, blackwall tires. M equipment added in 1959. Louvered aluminum hood, polished up underhood. The wet sander could have done a better job around the edges but other than that it is better than new, sharp and fresh. Comes with a charming story of its delivery new to a U.S. Air Force captain in Japan where it must have made quite an impression in 1956. Upgraded to M specs and fitted with aluminum hood and front fenders when he rotated back to Wichita.
Market commentary
A noted A H restorer remarked enthusiastically on the driving characteristics of the 4 cylinder Healeys in general, Theyre light, and quick and a real sports car. This one is even better than most. 100 4 prices have been eclipsed recently by the fascination of the current generation of collectors with BJ8s but this is a record price that was at least as much car as money for its history and exceptional presentation.
