Equipment
The first alloy body Gullwing, Rudge wheels, no luggage. First owned by Mercury Outboards Karl Kiekhaefer with some suggestion it may have been raced in period in Mercury livery, perhaps by Tim Flock. Cosmetically restored a decade ago by Scott with earlier mechanical rebuild. Appears little used since and very well maintained. Good redyed original interior, left door fit not flush but overall an important and well presented Gullwing.
Market commentary
Unsold on the block at a high bid of $715,000 and a stunning demonstration of RMs ability to negotiate a post block deal. Other than the price paid, the only possible drawback for this Gullwing is the work that may be needed to bring it back to good operating condition after many years of limited use. Gullwings are the hot commodity these days, as the price paid for this one indicates.
