Equipment
Left hand drive, dual Plexi windscreens, Silver wire wheels, Jaeger instruments, drivers head fairing. Very pretty little dohc 4 cylinder with dual ignition, old Weber carbs. Good cosmetics but somewhat aged and dull paint, surface creased, scuffed upholstery. A sweet little car raced in the XXI Mille Miglia in 1954 and XXII in 1955. Restored in 1990, its condition today is much better than would be expected for a nearly two decades old restoration.
Market commentary
Americans of a certain age can be excused for seeing something familiar in the Ermini coachwork. It is the source for the splash that Bill Devin used as the basis for the his fiberglass bodies, kits and the Devin SS. Its hard to imagine anything prettier. Jamie Knight tried very hard on this beautiful little car, apparently coming very close to closing the deal. It is certainly worth the amount bid in Euros and not unreasonable in US$.
