Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Silver painted wire wheels. Monza chassis with 250 V12 engine. Factory rebodied with the first pontoon fendered Testa Rossa style body. Known history, original engine, well restored 13 years ago to race car standards for Peter Sachs; engine freshly rebuilt.

Market commentary

It has a V12, it has pontoon fenders, and the tifosi will think its wonderful. So will the Ferraristi. A very sound and well maintained Ferrari sports racer with impeccable provenance and good looks, bought for half the price of a Testa Rossa. Marcel Massini reported 6 5 02 that there was a no commission deal on this sale to Chris Cox who immediately passed the car on to Jack Croul for a $50K commission. He also reported it was bought on 2 3 98 by Symbolic from Antoine Midy (thru Jean Sage, Chris Cox and Bill Serri) for $1MM, then immediately sold to Peter Agg for about $2.3MM in cars (0552M, 0536MD and 1309GT.)
