Equipment
331 Cadillac engine, column shift automatic, Borrani wire wheels, power windows, pushbutton radio.
Condition
#4 Fair
Has visible flaws to the naked eye. Runs fine, but could use mechanical or cosmetic attention.
One of 520 Nash-Healeys built and just 62 hardtops. Customized in California with the Cadillac engine. Featured on American Pickers. Paint coming off everywhere. The glass is rough. The wheels are filthy and rusty, as is the underbody. Rot on the sills, and the driver’s door has a hard time shutting. Cloudy gauges, and a few switches are missing. A rare and handsome car, but a mess.
Market commentary
Despite their rarity with just a few hundred built and despite their handsome Pinin Farina lines, Nash-Healeys aren't particularly valuable in the context of early '50s sports cars. With the right engine and a very good restoration this could be a $100K car, but it is going to take more than $100K to get it there. This will be a labor of love, but hopefully worth the effort for somebody.
