Equipment
V8 60 power. Built on an English Ford transverse leaf spring chassis. There was a lot of blather about how this car was built for Ford. Nonsense. It was a Motor Trend styling competition winner, sponsored by Ford. The prize was $500 and a beat up Ford Anglia that had been damaged in shipping. Vince Gardner got Henry Ford II to put up another $8,000. A neat car, AACA National First Place winning restoration by Fran Roxas, still sharp and crisp with brilliant presentation. Saturday Prime Time. No Reserve.
Market commentary
Sold with much more accurate description of its history by Christies at Pebble Beach in 1999 for $112,500. The seller was amply rewarded for the careful preservation of this custom car over the past seven years.
