Wide whitewalls, automatic, long wheelbase. Cataloged as a Continental, the chassis number is in fact for a standard long wheelbase R type with no Continental engine modifications unless they were added later. Built for Wacky Arnolt and lavishly equipped with built in vanity with cosmetics and liquor cabinet with glassware. Restored in the late 90s in as close to its original livery as could be identified from old photos and still has Wackys monogrammed flasks and glasses. Not to everyones taste, but definitely an attention getter. No Reserve.
Market commentary
Had this Bentley actually been an R type Continental the estimate would have been appropriate for its value; as a standard R type the bidders applied an appropriate haircut.
