Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome wire wheels, twin aeroscreens, powered by anemic Ford Consul 1508cc 4 cylinder engine made barely drivable by an assortment of Aquaplane engine mods. Beautifully restored to new condition, with excellent paint, interior and chrome. One of only 8 built.

Market commentary

One must assume there were only 8 built because their 4 cylinder engines were hardly up to even 50s traffic, the alternative being a barely adequate 2.3 liter Ford Zephyr engine with 68hp. With all the handling faults of the J and K series Allards, the lack of at least the diabolical power of a Cad, Chrysler or even flathead V8 makes a Palm Beach pretty unattractive and this price, a hammer bid $2,000 over RMs high estimate, pretty generous.
