Equipment

Powered by a delicious little 2.5 liter 216bhp OSCA inline six with three Weber 38DCO2 carburetors, 4 speed transaxle on deDion rear axle. One of four built, the only one with this Frua envelope body. First owned by Luigi Piotti, raced in the Giro di Sicilia, then 20th in the Mille Miglia. Sold to John Mecom, then Lloyd Wolf and Roy Cherryhomes before being bought by Jim Hall. Original engine long ago replaced by this 2.5 liter OSCA. Sympathetically restored in 2005 with many new body panels and essentially unsued since. A very desirable and rare automobile. Abba Kogan Collection.

Market commentary

With the more common, 4 cylinder, smaller MT4s bringing half a million dollars this six cylinder 2000S, one of only four built (one of them converted from a F2 car by Louis Chiron) and very thoughtfully restored, should bring at least 50% more. This bid isnt enough, but the low estimate is more. Closed post block at an undisclosed amount.
