Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Silver painted wire wheels, replacement engine of correct type with original 3 carb setup. Good older paint and original interior. Originally delivered to Andre Meert in Belgium, 3rd in 1953 Coupe de Spa. More recently used in several MM Retro. Much recent mechanical work including cylinder head rebuild and overhauled carbs, transmission, clutch, brakes, electrical system and suspension and unused since.

Market commentary

Sold at Brooks Monaco sale in 1999 for Ffr 1,377,226 (+209,957: $225,037 then, $249,450 today). A fine Ferrari with Touring berlinetta coachrwork typical of the day and a period competition history that will help the new owner take advantage of the recent mechanical work. A good buy in a classic V12 Ferrari.
