Equipment
RHD. 2,715cc 210hp V 12, 5 speed, Borrani wire wheels, full width windshield, two small hood scoops, Vignale portholes, single rear fender brake duct. 1953 Argentine Sport Car Championship winner with Jose Maria Ibanez, then other Argentine owners before being restored in Italy in the early 80s for Giuseppe Bianchini then used in historic events and races since by several owners. Sound paint and interior, orderly but aged and visibly used engine and chassis, exactly what it should be, a charismatic old racing Ferrari.
Market commentary
The Vignale bodied early Ferraris occupy a special place in the racing and visual history of Ferrari, striking cars with pace and style. This one has an unusually clean, straightforward history and is sympathetically presented in historic race ready condition. Its eligible for the Mille Miglia, where it is a multi time participant, and will earn cheers and waves along the way. The Monaco bidders appreciated it, too, giving it a deserved premium price.
