Equipment
RHD. 255 Mercury V 8 with Ardun heads (the engine it was delivered with according to the catalog), rollbar, 4 point belts, Grey painted wire wheels, Plexiglas aero screens, single sidemount, cycle front fenders. Originally sent to Australia, winner of the GP of Australia in 1953 and 1954 driven by Reggie Hunt. Good older paint and interior with some miles, especially on the chassis. An Allard that has been driven and will welcome more.
Market commentary
The combination of successful race history, originality and the rare and very desirable Ardun V 8 distinguish this Allard from most of its counterparts. Although ohv V 8 power is more highly prized by collectors the Ardun is more rare and special, especially because of Zora Arkus Duntovs work and Le Mans drive with Allard. This example is no trailer queen and deserves to avoid that fate. The new owner has a car to be proud of, and bought it at a good price as well.
