Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Period race history including the 1950 and 1951 Pebble Beach Road Races. Originally equipped with a Mercury flathead but received the Hemi in period. Owned by the consignor since 1963, and raced in vintage competition from the 1960s up through 2000. Then restored and shown. Lightly worn leather and aged steering wheel. Light detail scratching in the paint. Light hammer marks on the wheels. In fine condition for racing or weekend driving.
Market commentary
This car has led quite a life but it is in no need of retirement. Allards are eligible for all sorts of historic races, tours and rallies commonly frequented by much more expensive and exotic machinery. This is a decent price for this J2, and it''s plenty of car to keep up with the million-dollar Mercedes and Ferraris on the Copperstate or Colorado Grand.
