Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Silver wire wheels, dual aeroscreens. Poor old repaint but usable interior. Crude later fenders. Very original underhood. No chassis or engine numbers; third car built by the Maserati brothers after forming OSCA, engine enlarged to 1350cc, with some period racing history, then to Walter Grell for many years and very original.

Market commentary

Its not surprising that such an early product of the Maseratis shop doesnt feature much in the way of identification. Experts pored over this piece and came away satisfied of its authenticity, as the hammer price (double the low estimate) demonstrates. The new owner certainly has no doubts since it is the family of the original owner, Paulo Cordero de Montezemolo.
