Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome wire wheels, lefthand drive, skirts. Olds V8 power, with origil engine and trans included. First owner movie director George Sidney, eventually long term owned by Pebble Beachs Lorin Tryon. Fair old repaint now failing, worn interior, tacky instrument panels look like they came from a cheap speedboat, some failing chrome. Needs everything. A striking automobile but with a massive grille that Joseph Figoni must have designed on a day when he had a very bad hangover.

Market commentary

This car is so Hollywood and its connection with Sidney, who directed extravagant movies like Anchors Aweigh, Show Boat, Bye Bye Birdie and even Viva Las Vegas, is wholly in character. There is a mint of money to be spent on this car, but a reward at the end of the project, even if there is no reasoble probability of an eventual fincial payoff.
